This is one of the first projects I
produced in my foundation year at Farnham UCA. At first, the name of the brief
'Repulsive & Seductive' had me quite baffled, none the less,
intrigued by the idea of creating a piece of work that combined two themes of
binary oppositions into one. The inspiration for this styled photo shoot draws
influence from the ancient mythology of mermaids, sea serpents, witchcraft,
wizardry and fairy-tale romanticism. I have to say a big thank you to my model,
(and friend thank goodness) Georgina McKenzie, for allowing this crustacean and
mackerel to elegantly sit upon her head for over two hours while we shot. It's
safe to say that the rest of the studio team were not as polite about the awful
fishy smell.
