The emerging trend of night sports is a topic
that I have been meaning to blog about for a while. Since spotting this on WGSN
back in December, I have grown more and more in love with the amazing imagery
created by collaborating brands "Atoms x Bounty Hunter x Adidas
Originals". Board sports in general is something that has always grabbed
my attention from an early age, I am constantly inspired by the lifestyle and
aesthetic that goes hand-in-hand with them, and somehow they continuously
manage to creep into any project I do.

DARK SKATE The trend for glow-in-the-dark products was featured in WGSN's S/S
14 key technologies and innovations report, skaters and skate brands have
tapped into this in a big way. I particularly love the Otro glow-in-the-dark
skate park in Brussels, the three-way collaboration glow-in-the-dark capsule
clothing range by Atmos x Bounty Hunter x Adidas Originals, and Light Bohrd's
LED skateboard.
GLO
BOARDERS Jacob Sutton's video of pro snowboarder William Hughes cutting through
the Alp’s in an LED charged snowsuit is ethereal, godlike and beautiful! Nike's
Chosen series and rail jams, which feature club style neon lighting, DJs, along
with Light Bohrd's new LED helmet highlights the importance of LED as a
wearable technology.
NIGHT
SURF Originally established by surfers chasing 24/7 waves, night surfing is
becoming more popular across the globe. Events and competitions such as Nike
6.0 Night Surf at Fistral Beach, Newquay is established as a major event within
the surf calendar. In addition, surfers in Bondi, Australia, Tenerife and Spain
have taken night surfing to another level, bringing a party atmosphere to the
waves with rave style LED lighting on their wetsuits and boards- amazing
